A Holistic Approach to CT Protocol and Dose Management
More than 70 million CT exams are performed annually in the United States alone, representing the biggest collective effective dose (62%) compared with other modalities, making CT protocol optimization vital. A recent paper in the Journal of the American College of Radiology presents a holistic approach to overcoming CT protocol review and optimization challenges, including administrative support, scanner heterogeneity, patient size variation, and protocol mapping.
